Indian National Congress and the Associated Journals Pvt limited (AJL) today submitted their respective balance sheets for the year 2010-2011 to a Delhi court in the National Herald case.

Submitting the documents in sealed covers, both Congress and AJL in separate pleas, requested the court not to open it without hearing them. They maintained that the prayer by the complainant summoning the documents was made either by sheer oversight or for publicising the issue.

The court had on March 11 summoned the documents, observing that they could not be referred as personal documents of the accused. Congress president Sonia Gandhi, vice-president Rahul Gandhi and four others are facing prosecution in the misappropriation case on a complaint by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy.
