National Green Tribunal starts functioning

The National Green Triunal has started working with its formal notification issued today in New Delhi. Justice Lokeswar Singh Panta is heading the tribunal who took charge yesterday. Environment and forest minister Jairam Ramesh said four other regional benches will also be set up across the country to exclusively deal with matters relating to environment. The tribunal will also consist of members who are experts in the field of environment. The Parliament passed the National Green Tribunal Bill in the last session.
