Maharashtra continues to be at the top position of the medal tally with 88 medals, inluding 30 gold, 31 silver and 27 bronze medals. Services with 25 gold, 21 silver and 19 bronze medals are at second position while Manipur with 24 gold medal is at the third position. Maharashtra domination comes primarily because of swimming, in which the state has won 11 gold so far and gymnastics in which it has won 7 gold medal, while Services strength has come mainly from rowing and shooting, in which it has won 8 gold medal each. However, the position is changing fast as results from different competitions keep pouring in.
