In the ongoing Ranchi National Games, Delhi Swimmer Richa Mishra on Friday bagged the coveted yellow metal twice to equal Nisha Millet's 12-year-old record of eleven gold medals. Richa claimed the honour in 400-metre freestyle and 200-metre individual medley. With a couple of swimming events left in the tournament, Richa has a great opportunity to eclipse Millet's record, which came in the Manipur National Games in 1999. In the medals tally on the sixth day, Maharashtra was at the top with 28 gold, 30 silver and 27 bronze medals. All the credit went to the efforts of swimmers Virdhawal Khade and world champion markswoman Tejaswini Sawant, both winning two gold medals. Services (SSCB) rode on their shooters to retain the second spot with their tally reading 24 Gold, 20 Silver and 19 Bronze. Delhi, powered by Mishra's performance, improved their gold count to 22 along with 14 silver and 16 bronze medals to remain on the third place.
