National Cycling Team Coach killed in road accident on Delhi-Noida Highway

National Cycling Team Coach, Ruma Chatterjee was killed in a road accident on the Delhi-Noida Highway today. Ruma who hailed from Kolkata, was attending the National Camp ahead of the Indian team's visit to Switzerland for training. The four-member Indian team was to participate in the World Championship in Scotland.The 51-year-old cyclist was slammed by a speeding car during the training session on the road and was flung some distance. She died on the spot. Her body was taken to a hospital in Noida. Police registered a case and sent the body for autopsy. Ruma represented India thrice in international competitions and also served as coach seven times, including the CWG at New Delhi, Asian Games and Asian championship.
