A two day national conference on agriculture has begun in New Delhi today to discuss the rabi crop prospects this year. An official press release says, there will be broad-based discussions with state agriculture officers on preparedness for the rabi season.
The main rabi crops are wheat, barley, gram, pulses, linseed and mustard. Timely supply of farm inputs such as seeds, fertiliser, credit and insurance to farmers during the season will also be discussed during the conference.
The Conference will be attended by experts and representatives of the concerned ministries, scientists from Indian Council Agriculture Research and other research institutes.
