National Broadcasting Day being observed today

Today is National Broadcasting Day. On this day in 1927, the first ever radio broadcast in the country went on air from the Bombay Station under a private company, the Indian Broadcasting Company.<br />'' <br />'' Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati has extended his greetings to the entire broadcasting community in India on the occasion. <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Talking exclusively to AIR News, Mr Vempati said Radio and Broadcasting have a very long history and legacy which is older than independent India itself. <br />'' <br />'' He said Broadcasting has played a very crucial role over the decades. He stated that the power of speech and freedom of expression are something very unique because India is the largest democracy. He stressed that a strong symbol of that freedom of expression is broadcasting as a medium.<br />'' <br />'' In her message, Principal DG, All India Radio, Ira Joshi said, radio has been effective and credible medium of knowledge, information and entertainment and also played crucial role in protecting Indian culture and traditions.  She said radio has also played effective role during the Corona pandemic. </span><br />

National Broadcasting day being observed today

Today is National Broadcasting day. On this day the Indian Broadcasting Company began organized radio broadcasting from Bombay. To mark the occasion, All India Radio is organizing a symposium in New Delhi on the subject "Creation of New India and Broadcasting Medium". Parliamentarians, eminent journalists and media experts will speak on the occasion.
