President Pranab Mukherjee said today the National Action Plan for Skill Development will cover 25 lakh Divyangjan by 2022, presenting the National Awards for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in New Delhi, Mr Mukherjee said employment is a vital factor in economic empowerment of persons with disabilities. <br/><br/>Mr Mukherjee said, Accessible India campaign is a good step towards creating barrier-free access to public buildings and public transportation. Emphasising on the value of early detection and effective intervention, Mr Mukherjee said a number of simple precautionary steps can prevent the illnesses and chronic conditions that can cause disabilities.
