Income Tax officials swooped down on the offices of IPL franchisees of Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Deccan Chargers and Kings XI and also on companies handling the broadcast rights of the cash-rich cricket League.<br/> <br/>An IT source said that half-a-dozen senior IT officials questioned IPL chief Lalit Modi on Wednesday, second time in a week, at his office in a plush central Mumbai hotel, related to IPL broadcasting rights.<br/> <br/>Earlier, the IT officials conducted search and survey operations at the offices of Multi-Screen Media, formerly Sony Entertainment Television, International Management Group and World Sports Group (WSG), all of which are closely connected to the Lalit Modi-led IPL.<br/> <br/>MSM is the telecasting agency of IPL, while WSG is its marketing arm. IMG is the organising agency of the IPL. Besides, a similar exercise was undertaken at the Bandra residence of Venu Nair, CEO of WSG. <br/> <br/>In another development, leading industrial conglomerate Videocon, one of the unsuccessful participants in the latest IPL bidding, is understood to have submitted a copy of its bidding document to the IT department.<br/> <br/>It is learnt that Gujarat-based Adani Group, which also made an unsuccessful bid for one of the two new IPL franchises that went under the hammer, has not yet submitted a copy of its bid document to the authorities.<br/> <br/>The department is currently in the process of procuring and scrutinising the original bid documents (IPL-I)of eight original franchises . <br/> <br/>In Kolkata, the Memorandum of Understanding between Kolkata Knight Riders and Cricket Association of Bengal went missing from the CAB office which was raided by Income Tax officials.<br/> <br/>CAB sources said, a office-bearer and four of its members failed to produce a copy of this year's MoU after being asked by the IT officials who wanted access to the documents.<br/> <br/>The MoU is signed by KKR and CAB every year ever since the IPL competition began three years ago.<br/> <br/>The IT officials also raided the offices of Shah Rukh Khan-Juhi Chawla-promoted Red Chillies Entertainment, which owns KKR, at the Eden Gardens and then on Gameplan, a sports management group in the city. <br/> <br/>In Chennai, Tax sleuths surveyed the office of CSK owned by India Cements. BCCI Secretary N Srinivasan is the Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of India Cements.<br/> <br/>In Secunderabad, an IT team visited the office premises of Deccan Chargers Sporting Ventures limited. <br/> <br/>Sources said IT officials also went for a survey of the Kings XI office in Gurgaon. <br/> <br/>In Chandigarh, a court issued notice to co-owners of Kings XI Punjab, including Bollywood acrress Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia, on a suit accusing the Mohali franchise of not filing balance sheets and annual returns. Cricketers who played in IPL for last three years will also be scrutinised by the Income Tax. <br/> <br/>Official sources said IPL franchise teams had been asked to hand over details of payments made to cricketers of all the teams who have played in the three IPL editions so far. <br/>
