The nation will celebrate the birth anniversary of the first Deputy Prime Minister of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on Saturday.<br/><br/>At 7.30 in the morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will offer floral tributes at Sardar Patel's statue at Parliament Street in New Delhi.<br/><br/>The Prime Minister will administer the pledge of unity and address the people assembled at Rajpath.<br/><br/>Thereafter, Mr Modi will flag off the Run For Unity from the lawns of Vijay Chowk.<br/><br/>An official release said, the participation is voluntary and a large number of people including school-children and sports persons are expected to join the Run.<br/><br/>The celebrations are also being held in states and abroad. Union Ministers are also attending these celebrations at different places.
