President Pranab Mukherjee today led the nation in offering respects to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 25th death anniversary at his memorial Vir Bhoomi in New Delhi.<br/><br/>Along with Mr. Mukherjee, Vice-President Hamid Ansari, Congress President Sonia Gandhi accompanied by party Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, daughter Priyanka Gandhi and son-in-law Robert Vadra and several other party leaders also offered respects to the former Prime Minister.<br/><br/>Rajiv Gandhi, the sixth Prime Minister of India, was assassinated on May 21, 1991 at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu during a poll campaign.
