The Vice President Mohammed Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh led the nation in paying homage to first Prime minister of the country Jawaharlal Nehru on the occasion of his 46th death anniversary. <br/> <br/>An all religion prayer meeting was held at his memorial site , Shanti Van in the national capital. <br/> <br/>Congress President Mrs Sonia Gandhi, Delhi chief Minister Mrs. Shiela Dixit and other senior leaders paid glowing glowing tributes to the architect of Modern India. <br/> <br/>Several functions are being organised across the country to mark the occasion. Many welfare schemes are being launched today by various state governments.<br/><br/>In Allahabad, a large number of visitors reached Anand Bhawan and paid tributes to Pt Jawaharlal Nehru on his 46th Death anniversary. <br/> <br/>A special inter faith prayer meeting was organized on the occasion. <br/> <br/>AIR Correspondent reports, to mark the death anniversary of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru at Ananad Bhawan on Thurday, representatives of different religions recited haymes from Bhagwat Gita ,Quran, Guru Grant Sahib and Bible from the sacred text for the departed soul.<br/> <br/>The prayer meeting was followed a programme of Bhajans by Jawahar Bal Bhawan children. <br/> <br/>Earlier large numbers of local political leaders were also paid floral tribute to Pt Nehru at Ananad Bhawan. People from different places including foreign visitors are reaching pt Nehru’s home and paying homage to the great leader.<br/><br/>
