Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari led the nation in paying tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram today on his 108th birth anniversary. Paying his tribute to the stalwart Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Babu Jagjiwan Ram dedicated his life to the upliftment of poor and marginalized sections of the society. On the occasion, a prayer meeting was held at his Samadhi at Samata Sthal in New Delhi. Labour and Employment Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Vijay Sampla and dignitaries from various walks of life visited Samta Sthal and paid rich tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram. The birth anniversary of the veteran leader is celebrated as Samta Diwas by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
