Nation progresses toward 'New India': Vice President Venkaiah Naidu

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu said the nation progresses toward 'New India' and professional Institutes like Institute of Company Secretaries of India – ICSI need to take on a new role in the development of skills, technology to deal effectively with a rapidly evolving business environment. <br/><br/>Inaugurating ICSI's Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad today he said the Centre was established with the idea of providing learning, research and consultancy to the corporate sector. <br/><br/>It would also help Indian corporate sector to capture the best global practices in the corporate management, corporate disclosures and setting the benchmarks for high quality corporate governance. The Vice President congratulated ICSI for setting up of the mega facility of knowledge and research in Hyderabad. <br/><br/>He urged to make the Centre of Excellence a hub of research, support, guidance and training that can contribute towards efforts of nation building. Mr. Venkaiah Naidu commended the Institute for submitting a draft note on model code of meetings of Panchayats, which aims to promote good governance at the grassroots levels.
