Nation pays homage to the legendary freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on his 112th birth anniversary today. A series of functions are being organised through out the country to mark the day. Netaji led the Indian National Army to challenge the British Rule.<br/><br/>In West Bengal, the main function will be held at Netaji's Statue near Raj Bhawan. Our Kolkata Corespondent reports that people from all walks of life are visiting the ancestral house of Netaji in South Kolkata since early morning to pay homage to the legendary hero of the freedom movement.<br/><br/>In Orrisa, Public meetings and blood donation camps have been organized at different places to mark the occasion.<br/><br/>In Delhi, School children and activists are celebrating the day in a befitting manner by organising several functions.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, the West Bengal Government has urged the Centre to declare the birthday of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose as patriotism day. Speaking on the occasion of Netaji's birthday, State Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said this in Kolkata today. Bhattacharjee alleged that the role of the Central Government on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is not clear. He admitted that Left Parties committed mistake on evaluation of Netaji. <br/><br/>AIR Kolkata Correspondent Arijit Chakraborty reports that a number of programmes were organised throughout the State on Netaji Jayanti today. Thousands of people visited the ancestral house of Netaji in South Kolkata since morning to pay respect to the great hero of the freedom movement. The Netaji Research Bureau organised a special programme on the occasion.
