The Nation today pays homage to those soldiers who lost their lives fighting with China, which launched a multi-pronged attack across the Himalayas on this day in 1962.

The main function to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the day is being organised at Amar Jawan Jyoti near India Gate in New Delhi. Defence Minister A K Antony, Chiefs of the three services and other dignitaries paid their homage by laying wreaths.
