The nation today remembered late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 25th death anniversary with leaders paying homage to her. Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi joined a number of leaders in paying floral tributes to the late leader at her memorial Shakti Sthal in the capital. Our correspondent reports that Congress Party has planned a series of events to mark the occasion. An exhibition on the life and times of Indira Gandhi, national integration rallies across the country, blood donation camps and the screening of a short film are some of the events planned. Party spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan told reporters in New Delhi that people remember Indira's indomitable courage, taking up the cause of the underprivileged, tremendous contribution as Prime Minister and in ensuring social justice and greater national integration.<br/>Meanwhile, the Jalandhar District Congress Committee has paid homage to former Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi during a at Congress Bhawan in Jalandhar. Congressmen led by PPCC Secretary, Mr. Varinder Sharma and two other secretaries paid flowral tributes to the departed soul who was shot dead by her body guards on this day in 1984.
