Nation pays homage to the revolutionary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh on his 110th birth anniversary today. He was born on this day in 1907 in Banga village of Lyallpur district of undivided Punjab province. He fought against British government for the country's independence and was hanged in Lahore jail at the age of 23, along with Shivaram Hari Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar on 23rd of March in 1931.<br/><br/>On his jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has remembered Shaheed Bhagat Singh. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, Bhagat Singh's greatness and exemplary courage inspires generations of Indians. Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani also paid homage to Shaheed Bhagat Singh. <br/><br/>In a tweet, she said that his sacrifice remains etched in our memories. In his tweet message, Railway minister Piyush Goyal remembered Bhagat Singh's passionate service and supreme sacrifice for the motherland which inspire us all.
