Several functions are being observed across the country on the occasion of Sadbhavana Diwas on Friday, marking the 66th Birth Anniversary of Late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. President Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, led the nation on Friday morning in paying floral tributes to the departed leader. Vice-President Mr. Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi were among other dignitaries who visited the Samadhi Sthal of Rajiv Gandhi at Veer Bhumi and paid tributes. The theme of “Sadbhavana Diwas” is to promote National Integration and communal harmony among the people of all religions, languages, Goodwill towards all and to eschew violence. People across the country reaffirm their commitment to the message of the day by taking the “Sadbhavana Day Pledge today”.
