The Nation today observes the 68th anniversary of Quit India movement. Various events, lectures and exhibitions are being organised across the country to mark the day. A three day exhibition of rare documents on freedom struggle is being organised to commemorate the anniversary by the archives department of Haryana from today at Panchkula near in Chandigarh. A lecture by Professor JP Mishra is being held in Banaras Hindu University on “Remembering Quit India movement”. The Quit India Movement or Bharat Chhodo Andolan was a civil disobedience movement launched in August 1942 in response to Mahatma Gandhis call for immediate independence.
