The 335th Martyrdom day of the 9th Sikh Guru Sri Guru Teg Bahadur ji is being observed today at home and abroad with religious fervor and devotion. It was on this day in 1675 AD that the Guru laid down his life during the reign of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb at Chandni Chowk in Delhi to ensure freedom to profess, preach and propagate all religions.<br/><br/>It is enshrined as a fundamental right in our Constitution. His three disciples Bhai Matidas, Bhai Satidas and Bhai Dayala were also tortured to death to frighten the Guru. The Guru's scriptures in 15 ragas and sholaks are included in the Sikh Holy Book Sri Granth Sahib ji. Sikhs throng the gurudwars early this morning to listen to shabad, kirtan and discourses on the life and works of Guru Teg Bahadur. Free community kitchen will be served in Gurudwars.<br/><br/>In Delhi a big procession is being taken out today from Gurudwara Sheesganj, where he was put to death, to Gurdwara Rakabgunj near Parliament House in New Delhi where his body was cremated.<br/><br/>His head was taken to Anandpur Sahib where his son and the 10th Guru cremated it will full honours. There also stands gurudwara Seesganj.<br/>
