Nation celebrations Chhath

In Bihar, the Chhath Puja is being celebrated with religious fervors and gaiety. Chhath is considered a means to thank the Sun God for bestowing the bounties of life on the earth and prosperity. Standing in knee-deep water on the banks of rivers, ponds and water reservoirs, devotees will pay oblations to the setting sun this evening and rising sun tomorrow morning. During the Chhath, worshippers do fasting of 36 hours without taking food and water. AIR Patna correspondent reports that the whole atmosphere is reverberating with devotional folk songs. Roads and Ghats have been tastefully decorated with flowers and lights of different colours. Elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure a trouble free congregation at all the ghats through out the state for Chhath Puja. Lakhs of devotees have thronged at Sun temple in Deo of Aurangabad , Bargao of Nalanda and Pandarak in Patna districts of the state to perform chhath puja. It is believed that the wishes of those observing Chhath festival with serenity and purity are fulfilled.<br/> <br/> <br/>
