Oil conservation fortnight is in progress across the country. It aims to create awareness among the masses about the urgency of conserving of petroleum products.During this fortnight, the entire oil industry undertakes various kinds of activities to emphasise the need of the conservation of petroleum products and environment protection. It includes multi-media mass awareness campaign, efficiency up gradation of equipment, training programs, kisan melas and distribution of literature in national as well as vernacular languages through out the country. A part from this promotion of battery operated vehicles, bio-gas and essay competitions are also part of the campaign.The oil conservation fortnight, which will come to on January 31, is being jointly organised by the Petroleum Ministry and Petroleum Conservation Research Association. Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister S. Jaipal Reddy in New Delhi had inaugurated the campaign.
