Nation celebrates Nagpanchami

On the occasion of Nagpanchami today, a large number of people are taking dip in Ganga and other holy rivers and offering prayers to lord Shiva. A large number of devotees took holy dip at Sangam in Allahabad this morning and offered prayers at snake temple Nagvasuki. In Varanasi, thousands of people have been reaching different Ghats of Ganga for holy dip since morning. Devotees are also visiting various temples including Kashivishwanath to offer prayers. In Ayodhya people gathered at the bank of Saryu River for bathing and special Nagpanchmi worships. In Gujarat, a series of traditional fairs of the Shravan month has begun from today on the occasion of Nagpanchami. AIR Bhuj correspondent reports that at the historical Bhujiya Fort, the formal King of Kutch Pragmalji-III has performed pooja and kicked off the 400-year old traditional fair. Large number of people from all walks of life are assembling at the Bhujiya Fort to participate in this ancient traditional fair.
