Nation celebrates Eid-Milad-un-Nabi with religious fervor

Id-Milad-un-Nabi was celebrated in various parts of the country with religious fervor and enthusiasm. In Andhra Pradesh special meetings were held with scholars highlighting various aspects of the life of Prophet Mohammad. Governor E SL Narsimhan and Chief Minister K Rosaiah have greeted people of the state on the occasion.<br/><br/>Traditional festivity and religious fervour have marked Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed, in Hyderabad and other parts of Andhra Pradesh ton Saqturday. For centuries, this day is being celebrated in Hyderabad as a day of peace recalling and remembering the good deeds brought in by the Prophet. <br/><br/>Special prayers have been offered at Mosques and at sprawling public grounds on the occasion. Mosques, shops and houses have been decked up in the old city of Hyderabad and parts of Secunderabad on the occasion. Green flags have been seen on buildings, traffic signals and high-rise structures. <br/><br/>Glittering lights, sufi songs, embracing people, and rallying youngsters have marked the day in the twin cities. Public meetings and rallies are being held where speakers exhorted Muslims to follow ‘seerat-e-tayyaba’, the holy life of the Prophet. ‘Naat-e-shareef’, the poems in praise of the Prophet is being played over loudspeakers. <br/><br/>Holding green flags, youngsters are seen taking out rallies and raising slogans of ‘Allah-o-Akbar’, in the lanes of the old city. People from all walks of life and communities have joined their Muslim brethren taking active part in the celebrations. People have been seen exchanging Kheer puri being a favourite delicacy of the Hyderabadi’s for this day. Free food has been served at every corner of the old city. Eid is being celebrated in other parts of the state especially in towns like Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Warangal and Adilabad.<br/><br/>In Uttar Pradesh, Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Mohammad, is being celebrated throughout the state with great religious fervor and enthusiasm. Jalsa-e-Seeratun-nabi is being organised in various places since early morning. Julus-e-Mohammadi was taken out at several places in the state.<br/><br/>While holi festivities have already begun, the streets and Bazars in Muslim dominated areas are illuminating with electric bulbs and colourful flaglets as mosques have also been colourfully decorated. <br/><br/>Night-long functions were held in mosques and other religious places yesterday while processions comprising tableaux on different aspects of teachings of Islam is continuing throughout the state. Elaborate security arrangement have been made for peaceful conduct of the festival.<br/>
