Independence Day was celebrated at Nathula, Indo-China Border with much fanfare. Brigadier, Ravi Jhandiyal of 63 mountain brigade unfurled the tri-color. At a height of 14140 feet, Indian army celebrated Independence Day in a unique way. At the flag hoisting, a special border personnel meeting was held between the Indian and Chinese armies. This is an annual feature. The armies of both the countries meet on this day since 1995 to boost confidence building measures. Later, a cultural programme was organised where Chinese artists also took part. This echoes yet again, the bonhomie and friendship between the two countries.
