The Nashik onion traders have called off their two-day strike and trading will begin from tomorrow at Lasalgaon. After successful talks between Marketing Federation and Onion traders the strike was called off. The traders from India's largest onion market were protesting the Income Tax Raids that were conducted and against the state government directives of not to sell onions at not more than 40 rupees per kg. Meanwhile in Navi Mumbai, farmers from Nashik district have brought their produce directly to the APMC Market of Vashi and started selling onions at cheap prices.
