In Australia, the massive multi-million dollar scientific balloon which was part of a research project for NASA has landed in Longreach in central-west Queensland. The balloon was launched on Tuesday in Alice Springs as part of NASA's study of the Milky Way galaxy. Balloon Launching Centre spokesman Ravi Sood said it had to be destroyed in order to land at Longreach Wednesday afternoon. He said this sort of balloon can be used only once and once it is inflated, it should be used and then destroyed.
