Narendra Modi sworn in as the 15th Prime Minister of India

Narendra Modi today sworn in as the 15th Prime Minister of India. President Pranab Mukherjee administered the oath of office and secrecy to Modi and his Council of Ministers at a function in the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitly, Venkiah Naidu, Nitin Gadkari, Sadananda Gowda, Uma Bharti, Najma Heptullah, Gopinath Munde, Ramvilas Paswan, Kalraj Mishra, Maneka Gandhi, Ananath Kumar, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Smiriti Irani, Harsimrat Badal,Shiv Sena's Anant Geete and several others took oath as Union Cabinet Ministers. Several Ministers of State were also sworn in.
Nearly 4000 guests are attending the ceremony. Top leaders from SAARC countries including Paksistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, Bhutan Prime Minister TsheringTobgay, Bangladesh Parliament Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and Mauritius Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam are present in the ceremony. Outgoing Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, leaders of various other political parties and Chief Ministers of several states are also attending the function.
