The Narendra Modi led NDA government will present its maiden Rail Budget today. Railways Minister Sadananda Gowda will present the Budget in the Lok Sabha at noon. The Budget is expected to adopt a realistic approach in announcing new trains and projects, expansion of rail infrastructure the including the modernisation of stations. It will also spell out details of the future course of action for having a Diamond Quadrilateral to run high speed trains. The budget will also reflect the views of the NDA government on Rail Tariff Authority and High Speed Rail Authority. With the decline in passenger earnings, it is likely to spell out its strategy for additional revenue generation.
