Narayane Rane submits resignation to Maharashtra CM

Maharashtra Industries Minister Narayan Rane today resigned from his ministerial post. He submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan. Rane, a chief ministerial aspirant, has been reportedly upset with the party for not giving him the top post. He had announced last week that he will resign from his ministerial post, but will continue to be a member of the Congress party.

Rane had resigned as minister after his son Nilesh lost the Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg Lok Sabha constituency election earlier this year but the party did not accept his resignation.

Rane will hold a press conference later in the day to announce his next political move.
