Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtra Abbas Naqvi has said, the growing population across the world is the biggest hurdle in the way of development and there is a need for large scale awareness on this issue.<br/><br/>Inaugurating a conference in New Delhi, Mr. Naqvi said, the increasing population has created several problems in the entire world regarding development, employment opportunities and health services. He said, most nations in the world are suffering from the problem of providing quality and accessible medical facilities to the poor sections.<br/><br/>The Minister said, India has got all the potential to become medical tourism hub of the world and the government is also working towards providing low cost medicines to the poor. He added that in order to achieve the goal of sustainable development, it is of utmost importance for all the countries to take care of their population.<br/><br/>As many as 20 law-makers from various Asian and African countries attended the two days' conference on enhancing role of parliamentarians in the inter-linkage between population issues and the 2030 agenda of sustainable development held in New Delhi today.<br/><br/>It has been jointly organised by Japan-based "APDA" (Asian Population and Development Association) and the "IAPPD" (Indian Association of Parliamentarians on Population and Development).
