Najeeb Jung give assent to government formation by AAP in Delhi; AAP plays down rift within party

Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung has given assent to government formation by Aam Aadmi Party,AAP, in the national capital. Delhi Chief Secretary DM Spolia who met him this afternoon handed over the Lt Governor’s official communication to Party leader Arvind Kejriwal. This follows President Pranab Mukherjee accepting Lt Governor Najeeb Jung's proposal on government formation by AAP. The Home Ministry sent the President's communication to the Lt Governor in this regard.

Aam Aadmi Party, AAP, today played down reports of a rift within the Party over Cabinet posts in Delhi. Addressing media persons in Ghaziabad, AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said party leader Vinod Kumar Binny told him that he had no issues with the party, he does not want any position and that he desires to work for the nation. Kejriwal said Binny was not upset over his non-inclusion in the list of MLAs to be inducted in the Delhi Cabinet.

AIR correpondent reports, Vinod Kumar Binny had on Tuesday left Kejriwal's house apparently unhappy over not given a ministerial berth in the new government. However, today Binny denied any rift with the party. He told the media that he would fulfill whatever responsibility the party assigns him.

In the meantime, the swearing-in ceremony may not take place tomorrow. Mr. Arvind Kejriwal said it is unlikely because the Lt Governor has not confirmed it yet. Media had earlier reported that swearing-in ceremony would be held tomorrow.
