Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu has attacked AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi for his reported remarks that he will not chant Bharat Mata ki Jai. Mr. Naidu termed his comments as unfortunate and shameful saying no one should have objections in chanting such slogans.

Talking to reporters outside Parliament today, he said the people worship India as mother and there is no need of any law to force anyone to do so. Addressing a function in Mumbai few days back, Mr. Owaisi had rejected RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat's suggestion that the new generation needs to be taught to chant slogans hailing mother India. He had said the Constitution does not talk out it.
