Naidu describes 'triple talaq' as anti-constitutional

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Venkaiah Naidu has described 'triple talaq' as anti-constitutional and anti-civilisation and said it's time the country abolish this gender discrimination in the light of principles of justice, dignity and equality. <br/><br/>Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad today on the sidelines of a programme organised by Institute of Charted Accountants of India, he said this kind of opinion is on the rise in the country. Even Muslim women are demanding justice. There should not be any gender discrimination, he said.<br/><br/>All are equal before the Constitution, he stated. On the Uniform Civil Code, he said, the government will do everything in a transparent manner and will take Parliament into confidence. <br/><br/>Some sections are resorting to a false propaganda that the government is trying to implement Common Civil Code from backdoor, he said.
