Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu today assured the Legislators Group for Sustainable Development Goals (LG-SDGs) of full support to their endeavors. <br/><br/>Members of the Legislators Group for SDGs, Harish Chandra Meena, Chairman of the Group, Ninong Ering and Rahul Kaswan, all Members of Parliament met Mr. Naidu and briefed him about<br/>their activities to promote awareness on the SDG Agenda among MPs and MLAs. They said the Group would like to influence and support efforts of the Governments to advance and implement SDGs.<br/><br/>Mr. Naidu assured them that the Government would be too happy to enable a detailed discussion in the Parliament on the Sustainable Development Goals. <br/><br/>The United Nations' SDGs be achieved during 2016-30 include elimination of poverty and hunger, provision of food security, sustainable agriculture, healthy lives and well-being for all, inclusive and equitable quality education, gender equality and women empowerment. UN Secretary-General Mr.Ban Ki-Moon has urged the Parliaments to play a central role in implementing SDG Agenda.
