Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu today called upon people to maintain social harmony and reject caste and communal discrimination. Addressing farmers and villagers as part of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan held in Bowrampet village in Ranga Reddy district today, he said all measures should be taken to prevent incidents like the one happened in Hyderabad Central University. <br/><br/>Stating that the Central Government has accorded priority to improve infrastructure in rural areas, he said over 6 thousand villages which so far have no road connectivity will be provided roads by 2019. Mr Naidu further said due to the measures taken by the Centre, the power cuts came down in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He also stressed on finding long-term solutions for farmers problems and asked rural people especially farmers to properly utilize various government programmes for their benefit.
