Naidu appeals students to protect culture, mother tongue

Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu appealed to students to protect their culture, mother tongue and not to forget the mother land. Speaking at a programme organised by the Swarna Bharat Trust to give away medals to Krishna district toppers in Class X, at Atkuru village near Vijayawada yesterday, he asked the students to converse in their mother tongue in their homes, even though they use English language for professional purposes. <br/><br/>He asked the students to work hard to achieve their goals. Referring to former president Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Narendra Modi who rose from humble backgrounds to reach higher positions in life, he called upon students to follow in their footsteps for achieving their dreams. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu who also attended the function, showered praises on Venkaiah Naidu for serving people through Swarna Bharat Trust. He said, everybody should give back to society and take part in its development. <br/> <br/>Later in the evening, a felicitation programme was organised in Vijayawada by the BJP cadre with a special event "Meet and greet" to felicitate the Union Minister for his election to Rajya Sabha seat for the fourth consecutive time. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Legislative Assembly Speaker K. Shiva Prasad Rao, some ministers of the Cabinet and BJP leaders participated in the programme. On this occasion Mr. Venkaiah Naidu reminded his association with Vijayawada since Jai Andhra agitation. Mr. Chandrababu Naidu showered praises on the Union Minister highlighting his achievements during his long and exemplary political career.
