Naidu appeals people to become 'Swachhagrahi' to achieve dream of Swachh Bharat Mission

Union Urban Development and Information & Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu has appealed people to become 'Swachhagrahi' in order to achieve the dream of Swachh Bharat Mission.<br/><br/> The minister was addressing a Swachh Bharat Mission programme organized by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation at Ahmedabad today. While launching Swachhagrahi initiative as part of Swachh Bharat Mission, Mr Naidu stressed that the mission should be made a people's movement.<br/><br/>The Minister lauded the work done by Gujarat government under the Swachh Bharat Mission and presented a cheque of 290 crore rupees to the government for carrying out further work under the mission. The Minister presented a Swachhta Kit to 10 volunteered Swachhgrahis on the occasion. <br/><br/>Certificates were also distributed to ten Municipal corporations and Municipal councils from Gujarat for making their areas 'Open Defecation free'. The Minister dedicated to the nation a City Livelihood Centre of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation. He also launched Gujarat Urban Livelihood Mission's job portal on the occasion.
