In Gujarat, the elections of 27 Nagar Palikas will be held on 20th February 2011. Announcing this on Thursday in Gandhinagar, the Secretary of the State Election Commission Mr.Prakash Shah has said that the by-elections of 31 seats of 14 Nagarpalikas and 3 seats of 3 Taluka Panchayats will also be held simultaneously.Notification for the elections will be issued on 31st January, while the counting of votes will be take place on 22nd February. The model code of conduct has became effective in respective areas of the Nagarpalikas and Taluka Panchayats going to elections. AIR Correspondent reports that entire election process will be completed before the commencement of the Budget session of the state assembly.
