Nagaland Minister for School Education, Nyeiwang Konyak has announced that uniforms for Government Schools for both Primary and Middle School students will be provided shortly in the State. He said this while addressing the Golden Jubilee celebration of Government Middle School in Longkhum on Thursday. Mr Nyeiwang said issuing uniforms to students in Government Schools was part of government’s effort to re-vamp education system. He also said that the department has taken up massive exercise to ensure that Teachers are well trained and qualified. He however regretted that out of Nine Thousand Teachers in the State in government schools, only thirty per cent are trained and possessed required qualification. Mr Nyiewang said, there will be no compromise with quality and all teachers should have required qualification such as Pre-Service Teachers Education, Diploma in Education and B. Ed.
