<span style="color: #222222;">COVID-19 is perhaps the biggest pandemic that the world has witnessed since more than a century.<br />'' <br />'' Amidst such global pandemic, community participation to aid the government becomes the need of the hour.<br />'' <br />'' In such time, the Nagaland Rural Livelihood Mission and its strong network of Self Help Groups (SHGs) and its Federation has taken the lead in Community Based Preparedness and Response at the Village level with the objective to build resilience through creating awareness, delivery of essential service delivery care for vulnerable households and facilitating access to entitlements through convergence with Department having activities of essential and urgent nature.<br />'' <br />'' AIR correspondent reports, the State Mission is building community resilience against the COVID-19 pandemic through its Self-help Groups network across 1,241 villages in Nagaland.  <br />'' <br />'' During this pandemic, to ensure proper awareness and dissemination of the IEC reaches every single rural household,   all IEC materials on key COVID-19     has been translated in 18 major dialects.<br />'' <br />'' Community Cadres have been able to reach out to about 1.10 lakhs rural households wherein, dissemination is done jointly with the ASHAs and NMAs through house to house visits with special focus on the vulnerable members in the village.  <br />'' <br />'' The   SHGs and their       Village Level Organisations with the support of the village functionaries have also come up with a bio-friendly    home-grown solution by installing bamboo pole hand wash facility equipped with soap and       water  dispenser with hand hygiene pamphlet in local dialect.  Volunteers  take    turns to refill the water dispensers.    <br />'' <br />'' So far about 200     SHGs/VLOs have installed 310 bamboo hand wash facility in their village.       In response to the COVID-19 advisories from the     Government, strict vigils on the movement of people are also monitored by the village functionaries.  <br />'' <br />'' Besides, community-based facilities for quarantine and isolation have been identified by the Village Councils and made functional having 1,117 Quarantine centers.<br />'' <br />'' Till now with no positive cases in Nagaland, the fight against Covid-19 has so far been successful with the participation of the rural Community.<br />'' <br />'' </span><br />
