Nagaland: Polling for by-election to 43 Tapi Assembly Constituency under Mon district to take place tomorrow

In Nagaland, Polling for by-election to 43 Tapi Assembly Constituency under Mon district will take place tomorrow. A total of 15 thousand 256 voters will cast their votes in 23 polling stations under five sectors.<br />''<br />''Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) & Returning Officer (RO) of 43 Tapi A/C, Rongsenmenla told  Akashvani  News, that out of the total 15,256 electorates in Tapi Constituency, 7788 are male voters while 5464 female and 70 service voters. She also informed that they have received 121 postal ballots which include 80 voters and PWDs. The RO said, the polling will start at 7 AM and the mock poll will be conducted at 5.30 AM. She said that the Law and order situation in the district has remained peaceful so far and expressed optimism that polling day will be conducted smoothly without any untoward incidents.<br />''<br />''Ms. Rongsenmenla said, that CAPF, Nagaland Police, and IRB have been deployed to ensure free, fair, and peaceful elections.<br />''<br />''Ahead of the polling day, Electronic Voting Machines, EVM, and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail, VVPAT devices in Mon have been dispatched today. General Observer MG Rajamaniackam, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Ajit Kumar Verma, Superintendent of Police Mon Shiluwabang I Longkumer, and Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) & Returning Officer Rongsenmenla were present during the dispatching exercise.<br />''<br />''The Nagaland government has also declared a paid holiday for all institutions and establishments in the constituency on the polling day. The 43-Tapi Assembly Constituency under Mon District has fallen vacant, after sitting MLA and Advisor to the  Social Welfare Department, Government of Nagaland. Noke Wangnao passed away on 28th August this year. Counting of votes will be held on the 3rd of December.   <br />
