Nagaland Police observed Police Commemoration Day

Joining the rest of the country Nagaland Police observed the Police Commemoration Day on Saturday.<br />'' <br />''The solemn occasion was marked by holding a ceremonial parade at the Police Headquarters Kohima to pay rich tributes to police personnel who had laid down their lives in the line of duty.<br />'' <br />''Director General of Police (DGP) Nagaland Rupin Sharma, several senior police officers, different police battalions and the Dogs squad of DEF Kohima laid wreaths and paid respects to 189 Police personnel who had sacrificed their lives across India in the service of the Nation.<br />'' <br />''Paying tribute to the Bravehearts, DGP Sharma said the day is a reminder to every one of the rich history of the Indian Police.<br />''He said it is also a day to remind them of the dynamism that has helped them evolve over time and also their duties towards serving as the guardians of law and order in our great nation in changing times.<br />'' <br />''DGP Sharma remembered the sacrifices of the two Nagaland Police personnel who were among the 189 soldiers who laid their lives in the line of duty, namely Lance Naik T. Zewangba Yim of 3rd NAP and constable Kevisekho Khate of 10 NAP (IR). He said, their selflessness and valour have protected our homeland and preserved our way of life.<br />'' <br />''Sharma said that policemen and women, deserve one's utmost respect and appreciation, adding that a lot of it has to be earned through sweat and toil, working under difficult circumstances.<br />'' <br />''The DGP commended the dedication and commitment of each of the personnel for the multifaceted roles they play, be it as first responders during natural disasters, helping manage traffic, at times of crisis or pandemic or a riot or cybercrime.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">While reflecting on the sacrifices and valour of our police force, Sharma further called upon the police force to be inspired by the brave martyrs and pledge to continue their noble mission and to remain steadfast in its mission to protect and serve our great nation.</span><br />
