Nagaland has got its first HIV-1 Viral Load Laboratory at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) today. The laboratory was officially launched by the Commissioner &amp; Secretary of Health &amp; Family Welfare and Chairman of Nagaland State AIDS Control Society Y Kikheto Sema.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Speaking at the launch event, Mr. Sema said the launching of the first HIV-1 Viral Load Lab at &nbsp;NHAK marks a significant milestone in the state of Nagaland in ensuring better treatment and care for the People Living with HIV ( PLHIV) community. He said, till today Nagaland has approximately 12,290 PLHIV who are on treatment while many more are still unreached and untested. Nagaland is the second highest HIV positive state in the country and the highest Antenatal Care in India and termed it as a huge challenge for the State, Mr. Sema added. The Health Commissioner said, the State government has realised more than ever the urgency and need to have such a facility to boost the public health system in the State, especially for the PLHIV community. He also informed that the laboratory will be open on all working days.</span><br />
