Nagaland Election Department has decided to provide amenities in the polling stations for the forthcoming Assembly elections. The Department said, it is making efforts to provide minimum facilities for the voters in the polling stations such as drinking water, Electricity, Ramp for Persons with Disabilities Voters, Toilet and Waiting sheds. The Department will also issue special entry passes into the polling station to identified Person with Disability Voters, Octogenarian and older voters, pregnant women voters and women Voters with babies in arms. <br/><br/>The Election Department has asked political parties and their contesting candidates to display publicity materials, manifesto and appeal letters in audio-video and in Braille as well as in sign language as per the requirement of the Persons with Disabilities. <br/><br/>The District Election Officers have been instructed to brief all polling and security personnel in the districts about the provisions in the training sessions. The decision has been taken with an aim to fulfill the commitments of 'No Voter to be left behind' and ensuring 'Accessible Elections', under the direction of the Election Commission of India.
