In Nagaland, Dimapur Traffic Police has introduced a Display Card System, to effectively manage and regulate the auto rickshaws plying around in the districts of Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Niuland.<br />''<br />''Launching the initiative at the Commissioner of Police Office premises in Dimapur today, Commissioner of Police, Dimapur Mr. Kevithuto Sophie said the new system will ensure the safety of passengers, detect stolen auto rickshaws, check permits, and those driving without proper licenses.<br />''<br />''He said, it will also assist the authority in checking rickshaw drivers plying without wearing proper uniform, which is mandatory.<br />''<br />''Under the new system, after verifying the documents of the auto-rickshaws, a photo identity display card containing the important details of the auto-rickshaw and contact numbers of the Traffic or Police Control Room will be issued with a validity of two years and which is to be renewed thereafter.<br />''<br />''The photo identity card would be pasted on the rear windshield for the convenience of the passengers.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">It was informed that compared to 2022, the number of road accidents in the districts of Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Niuland clubbed together, has come down by 55 percent in 2023.</span><br />
