Health Minister J P Nadda has welcomed Prime Minister's announcement to give financial assistance of six thousand rupees to pregnant women. Terming it as a visionary step towards reducing maternal mortality in the country, Mr Nadda said it will result in sustainable and far-reaching health outcomes. An official release said, under the scheme, the money will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the pregnant women who undergo institutional delivery and vaccinate their children.<br/><br/> Mr Nadda said also said this step will help ensure nutrition before and after delivery and improve the health of mother and child. Mr Nadda said, the Prime Minister's address on the eve of new year is harbinger of growth and development of the nation and focused on farmers, small businessmen, senior citizens and rural areas.
