Union Health Minister J P Nadda today launched the new revamped logo for Family Planning awareness campaign along with communication plan. Inaugurating a National Summit on Family Planing in New Delhi, Mr Nadda pointed out that a comprehensive strategy has been worked out where maternal and child health have been placed at the centre point. <br/><br/>He said, Cine Star Amitabh Bachchan is the brand ambassador and anchor for the new communication approach. The IEC package has several TV and radio spots with a focus on the role of various stakeholders such as the mother, father, mother-in-law, husband as well as the role of community health workers.<br/><br/>The promotion of family planning is essential for securing the well-being and autonomy of women, while supporting the health and development of communities. Family Planning helps reduce child mortality and improve maternal health, because many pregnancies in quick succession put mother and child at risk.
