Nadal stunned by David Ferrer in quarter-finals of Australian Open

World number one Rafael Nadal was stunned 6-4, 6-2, 6-3 by fellow Spaniard David Ferrer in the Australian Open quarter-finals on Wednesday, ending his quest to hold all four grand slam titles at once.Ferrer, who drilled 44 winners past his suffering compatriot, will face fifth seed Andy Murray in the semifinals.Andy Murray beat Alexandr Dolgopolov of Ukrain 7-5, 6-3, 6-7, 6-3.In the Women's section Carolina Wosniaki of Denmark will face China Na Li while Kim Clijesters of Belgium will meet Vera Zvenarova of Russia in the semifinals.Meanwhile, star Indian pair of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi inched closer to their maiden Australian Open title as they overcame Michael Llodra of France and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia to enter the semifinals of the men's doubles event on Wednesday .Paes and Bhupathi, seeded third in the Grand Slam took 91 minutes to defeat Llodra and Zimonjic 6-4, 6-4 in their quarterfinal encounter at Melbourne Park.The French-Serbian pair had got the better of the 'Indo-Pak Express' pair of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi in the pre-quarterfinals.Having came together after a span of nine years to grab the only Grand Slam title missing from their cup board, Paes-Bhupathi held on their unforced errors to just five against their opponent's 13, which brought the difference in the match. The Indian duo would now take on the winner of the quarterfinal match between the and the second seeded pair of of Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Canada's Daniel Nester who beat the Polish pair of Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski.
